Raymond E. Evert, of Otsego passed away on Friday, September 25, 2020 at the age of 83. Raymond was born on September 27, 1936 in Fulton, MI. He was the son of Charles and Lillian (Brown) Evert. He served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corp. Afterward he worked for 29 1/2 years for James River Paper Mill in Parchment. In his spare time, he was an avid golfer. He would love playing it, talking about it, and watching golf. His family describes Raymond as a great father and a man with a great sense of humor. He is survived by his companion of over 30 years, Mary Stoughton, of Otsego; two sons: Douglas (Christina) Evert, of Gobles; Donald Evert, of Otsego; two grandchildren: Kyler Evert and Casey Evert-Dunn; two great grandchildren: Madelyn and Beckett. Raymond's family plans to bury his ashes with military honors at Fort Custer National Cemetery on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at 11:30am.
