Robert "Bob" Andrews

Robert "Bob" Andrews died peacefully in his home on September 16 in Parchment, MI at the age of 72, after suffering for many years from heart conditions and MS. Bob was selfless and most would never know the pain he endured because he never complained. Bob is survived by his wife, Sherry; children, Chad (Susan) Andrews; grandchildren, Luke and Sienna. He is preceded in death by his children, Nicole Lee, Austin Robert, and Luke Chad; father Ralph Glenn Andrews of South Dakota; favorite beloved companion, his Doberman, Deuce. Bob was born on August 22, 1948 in Huron, South Dakota to Glenn and LaVonne (Nelson) Andrews. He graduated from KVCC with a degree in Computer Science. He married Sherry, the love of his life, in 1973. After moving to Michigan, Bob began working for Allen Test Products and Burroughs Mfg in Computer Operations. Bob often said his best times were spent working alongside his son in his flooring business. He was also known as ‘Dune Buggy Bob’ around town and loved early morning buggy rides and time with family at Silver Lake Sand Dunes. He enjoyed cooking large meals for his family and always made sure their needs were taken care of before his own. But more than anything, he loved spending time with his son and best friend, Chad, and cherished every minute with his grandchildren, Luke and Sienna. A cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. While visiting Bob’s webpage at www.mccowensecord.com please sign the guestbook by lighting a candle, and/or sharing a memory with the family. The family is being assisted by the McCowen & Secord Funeral Home; Marshall & Gren Chapel, 120 S. Woodhams St. Plainwell, MI 49080 (269-685-5881).

Have known Bob for about 48 years . Thats a long time. Bob loved his family , the grandchildren was one of his great loves. He also was a great cook, loved to grill outside on his griddle, loved barbecued ribs. Liked playing games. Enjoyed laughing. I will miss him . Truly a real loss.

For 17 years Bob has been the best neighbor I could have had. He always kept an eye on my house and grabbed my mail when I was away, cleared the snow from my drive when he was still able, and shared a break and a few minutes of conversation when we were both working in our yards. But mostly he made me feel like part of his family. I now understand how good that feeling was, how safe and cared for I felt, and how empty home feels with him gone. Chad, Sherry and Susan, my heart breaks for you, knowing your sadness and loss is so great. I hope we can stay in contact and continue to share Bob's memory...
