Bob Chapman

Robert "Bob" Glenn Chapman of Plainwell, MI passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at the age of 78. He was born in Richland, MI on December 26, 1945, the son of Homer and Vivian (Kinsey) Chapman and twin brother to Russell Chapman.

On November 14, 1983 he was united in marriage to Barbara Younger. Following marriage they moved into their family home, where they continued to live throughout their forty plus years happily together.

Bob's life was a testament to hard work, dedication, and love for his family and friends. He proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam Conflict and, upon returning home, began a long career with General Motors, from which he retired in 1999.

Bob was known for his unyielding honesty, his hardworking nature, and his love for building race cars. At the age of 49, he built his own stock car and raced at the Kalamazoo Speedway, a testament to his passion and skill.

Bob was always found alongside his twin brother Russ, working in the shop or hanging out in the pole barn, affectionately known as "the dog house." His talent for body work and car painting was well-known, and he took great pride in the immaculate state of his lawn.

An avid fan of western movies and TV shows, Bob particularly loved "Gunsmoke." Before meeting Barbara, he enjoyed barrel racing horses, showcasing his love for animals, both large and small.
