Rodney Lynn Borger, of Kalamazoo, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024, at the age of 67. He was born on September 14, 1956, in Three Rivers, MI. He was the son of Robert and Janet (Forsyth) Borger.
Rodney's journey of life included his education at Schoolcraft schools. He graduated with the Class of 1974 from Schoolcraft High School. His dedication to learning and growing as an individual was apparent throughout his life. For over 41 years, Rodney dedicated his life to being a truck driver, mastering the roads so well that everyone dubbed him a Road Atlas. His knowledge and experience on the road were unparalleled.
Beyond his professional career and family life, Rodney found solace and enjoyment in various hobbies and interests. Hunting and fishing provided him with moments of peace and connection with nature. Riding his motorcycle through the open roads brought him a sense of freedom. Working on cars allowed him to showcase his mechanical skills. Additionally, he cherished trips up north in Michigan where he could appreciate the beauty of the state.
Later in life Rodney married his wife Pamela, whom he loved and adored. They blended their families together and enjoyed traveling together. His love for his family and grandchildren knew no bounds; they were truly the center of his world. Rodney's children and grandchildren brought him immense joy and fulfillment. His family fondly remembers him as a strong, strong-willed individual who possessed kindness and always extended a helping hand to those in need.
One of Rodney's proudest accomplishments was undoubtedly his grandchildren. They were not just his pride and joy but also a source of endless love and happiness for him.
Although he may have passed on from this world, the memories he created with his loved ones will forever be cherished.
Rodney was preceded in death by his wife: Pamela; parents Robert and Janet (Forsyth) Borger; and one brother: Timothy.
He is survived by his three children: Roy (Violet) Smith, of NM; Rodger Borger, of Kalamazoo; Sabrina (David) Stamper, of Three Rivers; four stepchildren: Amy (Jason) Carter, of IN; Stacy (Tim) Waters, of Hickory Corners; Kathy (Chris) Wagy, of Kalamazoo; and Tommie (Kristy Green) Platz, of Schoolcraft; 15 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He is also survived by his two sisters: Wendy Zimmerman, of Schoolcraft and Laurie (Scott) Conklin, of Big Rapids.
Rodney has been cremated and no services are planned at this time.
