Ronald Hollister

Ronald Burr Hollister of Three Rivers, MI passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at the age of 81. He was born on December 31, 1940, in Sturgis, MI the son of Burr and Eunice Ann Hollister.

He graduated from Bronson High School in 1959, following graduation he completed an apprenticeship in Plumbing and Pipe Fitting and was a licensed journeyman plumber/pipefitter from the Local Number 357 Union for more than fifty years of service.

Ron enjoyed fishing, hunting: deer and morels, spending time at his cabin in the Upper Peninsula, woodworking, bowling, and playing cards: mostly euchre. He will be remembered for his creativity and ingenuity with anything he applied his mind to from welding to woodworking, he could solve any problem.

He is preceded in his passing by his parents; wife: Shirley Hollister; sons: Randell Hollister and Rex Hollister; brother: Eugene Hollister; and brother in law: Mike Roselip.

Left to cherish Ron’s memory is his daughter: Ivajane (Bill) Moore; companion of seventeen years: Betty Carpenter; siblings: Duane (Judy) Hollister, Charles (Tracie) Hollister, Pam (Rob) Stroup, Darlene Roselip, and Allan (Ernestina) Hollister; grandchildren: Aaron, Nicholas, Rachel, and Hayli; great grandchildren: Kolton and Ava Kay; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials made in Ronald's memory may be directed to the Michigan United Conservation Club (MUCC), PO Box 30235, Lansing, MI 48909 or a charity of your choice.

In accordance with Ron’s wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on a date still to be determined.

So sorry to hear about our old friend Ron. We were close when our kids were little, but then life took us our separate ways. He was a very honest, calm, and kind man - easy to be around. His old friend Lynn will have a Pabst waiting up there for him. May the Good Lord especially bless all who are left here, missing him so much.

Ron and my late husband Bill Dixon were childhood friends and Rons dad and mom were friends with Bills parents . We went up north with Ron and his boys when they were little mushroom hunting back in the 70s.Had a good time. He was a good man and a lot of fun
