Sheryl Anne Robbins

Sheryl Anne "Sherry" Robbins, age 67, of Vicksburg, Michigan, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, July 31, 2026. She was born in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Stewart and Marilyn (Dresser) Turner. As the oldest of three daughters, Sherry grew up in a home where compassion and hospitality were a way of life. Her family welcomed foster children and exchange students into their home in the Midland area, helping to shape the caring heart that would define her life.

Growing up, Sherry loved the water and was a competitive swimmer. After graduating from Farwell High School in 1976, where she also participated in cheerleading, she pursued her passion for caring for others by attending North Central Michigan College, earning her Registered Nursing degree. Later, while raising her family, she returned to school to complete her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Michigan. Her husband fondly remembered evenings spent doing homework side by side with their children as they completed their own school assignments-a testament to her determination and lifelong commitment to learning.

On August 25, 1979, Sherry was united in marriage to the love of her life, Rob Robbins. Though they first met in high school, their love story began after college. Together they shared nearly forty-seven years filled with faith, love, and devotion, building a home where everyone was welcome.

Sherry faithfully served as a Nurse for more than three decades, including 28 years at Bronson Methodist Hospital before retiring in 2018. Nursing was more than a profession to her-it was a calling. She cared deeply for every person she encountered and continued offering comfort, encouragement, and compassion to others until her final days.

More than anything else, Sherry loved Jesus Christ. Her life was a living testimony to His command to love one another. She possessed a compassionate heart, a warm smile, and a comforting embrace that made everyone feel welcomed and valued. She found great joy in opening her home to family and friends, whether gathered around the table or enjoying time together in the backyard pool. She loved to entertain, offer encouragement, and make others feel at home.

Her faith was woven into every aspect of her life. Sherry was a devoted member of ChapNaz Church, where she was actively involved in the Encore ministry and Wednesday Bible study. Over the years, she also served as Missions President, participated on the Women's Ministries Council and sang in the church choir. For many years she invested in countless young lives through children's and youth ministry. She was also actively involved in her beloved Bible Study Fellowship group every Tuesday morning. She truly lived out her faith through joyful service to both her church and her community.

Sherry loved spending time with her family, camping, visiting northern Michigan, and traveling to Mackinac Island. She also enjoyed water skiing and snow skiing and was actively involved in the Girl Scouts of America, where she served as a lifeguard, camp nurse, and even played the guitar around the campfire. Family gatherings were made even more special by her famous peanut butter bars and strawberry pretzel salad, recipes that will forever be associated with her love and hospitality.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stewart and Marilyn Turner, and her father-in-law, Robert Robbins.

Left to cherish her loving memory are her beloved husband, Rob Robbins; her children, Erin (Braden) Cox, Steve (Marissa) Robbins, and Brian (Ashley) Robbins; her cherished grandchildren, Landon, Corban, Bryson, Caleb, Isla, Grace, Vana, Cora, Alta, and Tova; her mother-in-law, Margaret Robbins; her goddaughter, Gwen Sullivan; her sisters, Sue Owens and Sara Turner; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

In accordance with the family's wishes, cremation has taken place and public services will be held at ChapNaz Church, 7520 E U Ave, Vicksburg, MI 49097, with a time for visiting on Friday, August 14, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A celebration of Sherry's life will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026 with a time for visiting beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dave Downs officiating. 

Sherry's life was a beautiful reflection of the love of Jesus Christ. Through her unwavering faith, compassionate heart, generous hospitality, and selfless care for others, she leaves a legacy that will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know and love her.

The family requests that attendees honor Sherry's memory by wearing colorful clothing to celebrate her life.
