Shirley’s pride and joy was being a devoted stay at home mother. She was always involved with her children's activities whether it was going to sporting events, riding motorcycles, camping, snowmobiling, fishing, playing games/cards, and cooking. She carried these activities over with her grandchildren. Her greatest joy in life was the love she shared with her family and friends.
Her happy place was Sandy Pines where she spent her summers fishing, boating, swimming and making lifelong friends. She especially loved teaching her grandchildren how to fish and swim.
Shirley set a good example by always choosing to see the good in life and people. She never had a bad word to say about others, and always had a smile on her face.
Those she leaves behind will forever cherish her love and the precious memories they shared, holding them close until they are reunited again. Rest in peace Mom, your work on earth is done.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Centrica Hospice Care for their care and kindness. They would also like to express their sincere gratitude to those at Park Village Pines who personally showed love and care for Shirley.
Donations made in Shirley’s memory can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no public services. A private graveside service will take place at East Cooper Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
