Susan Carol Bennett

Susan Carol Bennett, 66, passed away on September 5, 2022, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born on September 25, 1955, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She was the daughter of Dean (deceased) and Marilyn (Manifold) Frazier. In 1973 she graduated from Portage Central High School and worked at Bronson Hospital for 30 years. She is survived by her husband, Rick R. Bennett; stepsons, Derrick and Darren (Bailey) Bennett; sister-in-law, Pam Bennett Moberly; and five grandchildren, Delaney, Dodger, Noah, Faith and Braylon. Also surviving are her father in-law and mother in-law Dick and Barb Bennett and special family friend Dan Bunscholten; her brothers, Mike, Tim, Terry and her sister Cher and close family members Rick and Cheryl Niemi, her nephews Brad and Brent (Leah) Frazier and niece Chelsea (David) Riddington. She was a great aunt to Logan, Ella, Jack, Francesca and Beatrix. Also surviving is her aunt Norma Barber and many cousins and friends. A celebration of Life will be held at the VFW 8845 S. Sprinkle Road, Portage, MI from 3:00 – 7:00 PM on September 18, 2022. Donations made in Susan’s name may be directed to the Cure of Alzheimer’s.
