Susan Kahler- LaCoss 12/08/1952 - 03/18/2024

Susan Kahler-LaCoss, 71, of Plainwell, MI passed away in Kalamazoo on March 18th, 2024. Susan was born in Muskegon, Michigan on December 08th 1952 to Josephine and Paul Kahler. 

Susan attended Mona Shores High School and graduated from Western Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in marketing. She married Dale LaCoss on September 18^th, 1982, and together they had one child, Kimberly LaCoss. Susan worked as an alternative education teacher in Otsego, Michigan and during her retirement she worked at the local greenhouse. She enjoyed participating and volunteering at the local Ransom District Library. She also volunteered with the Cooper Horse 4-H club. She enjoyed knitting and sewing, managing her family’s farm caring for her beloved animals, canning and freezing produce from her gardens, camping and she loved researching genealogy. 

Susan is survived by her husband Dale, daughter Kimberly, many in-laws and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Robert, and her mother and father: Josephine and Paul, as well as her aunts and uncles. 

Memorial services will be held at Centre Avenue Church of God 1917 E Centre Ave, Portage Michigan 49002 on Friday, April 12th, 2024. Visit with family and friends from 10am to 11am. A memorial service will begin at 11am at the same location. Memorial donations may be made in Susan's name to Ransom District Library or the local 4-H club.
