Susan Newton

Susan Arlene (Prolo) Newton, born on September 5, 1951, in Plainwell, MI, to Howard “Bill” Prolo Jr. and Velma Harmon, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, in Kalamazoo, MI.

Susan shared 57 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband, David Newton, whom she married on September 17, 1967, at the Prairieville Township Hall.

She is survived by her devoted husband David; loving children: Melissa “Missy” Newton, Susan “Suzie” Minnich, , and Emily; cherished grandchildren: Jeremy , Ashlie (Ace) Francisco, Duston “Dusty” Newton, Saydie, Timothy, Lucy, Anthony, Aiden (Mia), Gemma, and Lilly, ; and adored great-grandchildren: Sevin , Matthew, Skyler, Auden Aria , Elijah, Serenity, Haley, Macey, Lyric. Susan is also survived by her siblings: Virginia (Gary) Royston, Howard Prolo, Merry Kinsey, Joseph Prolo, Waneta (Craig) Lewis, and Linda (Randy) Taft; as well as a special crew of Jessi, Josh, Carmen, Nathaniel, Allison, Issaick, Peyton, and Spencer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her grandson-in-law, Matthew Moore.

Susan found joy in traveling, bowling, spending time on the water, and camping. She dedicated over 25 years of her life to the United States Postal Service, leaving a legacy of hard work and dedication.

A Celebration of Sue’s Life will be held at Friendship Wesleyan Church, 1285 102nd Ave, Plainwell, MI on July 7, 2024 from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm.
