Suzanne “Sue” Epley, age 79, of Vicksburg, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at Bronson Commons in Mattawan.
Born on November 6, 1946, Sue was the daughter of the late Delbert Paul and Virginia (Wood) Rench. On October 23, 1980, she wed the love of her life, Charles “Chuck” Epley, in a memorable ceremony in Las Vegas. Together, they shared 21 beautiful years of marriage before his passing in 2001.
Sue was a woman of remarkable dedication, spending 44 years as a loyal employee for AAA. Her hard work and commitment culminated in a well-deserved retirement on March 31, 2010.
A quiet and gentle soul, Sue was known by all who loved her as a kind, caring, and profoundly giving woman. Her life was deeply rooted in her strong Christian faith, which guided her actions and her heart. In her quiet moments, she took great joy in crocheting, reading, playing cards, and sharing continuous laughter over dinner with her dear friends. An avid outdoorswoman in her own right, she also loved the peace and focus of hunting.
She leaves behind a family who will miss her deeply, including her brother, D. Paul Rench Jr.; her nephew, D. Paul (Sherri) Rench III; her niece, Jerri Rench; her stepdaughter, Sharon Epley; and her adored great-nieces and nephews, Shannon, D. Paul IV, Jennifer, Bailey, and Cody.
In addition to her beloved husband and her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her stepdaughter, Charlotte Epley.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation on Monday, November 2, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home in Vicksburg. A graveside service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Vicksburg Cemetery, where Sue will be laid to rest alongside her husband.
