Terry N. Tassell

Terry N. Tassell, of Vicksburg passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025, at the age of 68. He was born on April 3, 1957, in Kalamazoo, MI. He was the son of Gordon Tassell and Jeanette Skippers. He is leaving behind a legacy of hard work, love, and joy that touched many lives.

A proud graduate of Vicksburg High School, Terry was known for his vibrant personality. He was incredibly social, forging friendships wherever he went, and he had a gift for making people laugh with his great sense of humor. He was not only the family's leader but also exhibited intelligence and integrity throughout his life.

He started out as an employee at the Lee Paper Mill in Vicksburg, where he worked for approximately 23 years, before transitioning to a fulfilling career as a truck driver for Reith-Riley Construction for about 13 years.

In his personal time, Terry embraced life with passion. He enjoyed having fun and often with friends at the Village Hide-A-Way in Vicksburg, one of his favorite gathering spots. His love for the water was evident from a young age, having spent many days water skiing and being on a boat. Over the past decade, he cherished spending winters in Alabama, where he enjoyed close moments with his mother, Jeanette, and sister, Debbie.

Additionally, Terry was known for his culinary talents, delighting family and friends with his hearty soups, grilling, and hand-cut French fries. His adventurous spirit took him around the world, most recently a memorable trip to Thailand.

Terry took immense pride in his three sons, Chad, Zach, and Logan, holding them close to his heart. He is remembered not just for his accomplishments, but for the warmth and laughter he brought into the lives of those who knew him. His spirit will forever be missed by all who had the privilege of sharing in his journey.

Terry is preceded in death by father: Gordon Tassell; Stepdad: Ronald Skippers, and his brother Norman Tassell.

He is survived by his three sons: Chad Tassell, of Kalamazoo; Zach (Camille) Tassell, of Portland; and Logan Tassell, of Vicksburg; one grandson: Wade Tassell. He is also survived by his mother: Jeanette (Wendell Gilliam) Skippers, of AL; three siblings: Debbie (Ted) Sharpsteen, of AL; Susan (Joe) Potter, of Three Rivers; and Jamie Tassell, of Vicksburg; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 1pm to 4pm at the funeral home.
