Thomas Roy Tibble, of Kalamazoo, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at the age of 66. He was born on April 2, 1960, in Detroit. He was the son of Almon and Nell (Smith) Tibble. Tom is leaving behind a legacy marked by unwavering dedication, professional excellence, and deep devotion to his family and faith.

A native of Troy, Thomas's journey began at Troy High School, where he graduated with the Class of 1978. He continued his education at Western Michigan University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting, followed by a Master’s in Finance and Taxation. It was during his time at Western Michigan University that Tom met Patti Dell, the woman he would share his life with. Their paths crossed at Bethel Baptist Church. Patti was a nursing student, at the same time Tom was a student at WMU. Their shared faith blossomed into love. They married on November 20, 1982, in Port Huron. Together, Thomas and Patti shared 43 years building a loving home and family.

Professionally, Thomas distinguished himself as a respected CPA for over four decades, operating his own firm, Tibble CPA. He was also a US Bankruptcy Trustee in the Western District. He founded Trustee Insurance Agency, a nationwide bankruptcy asset insurance company, extending his expertise and leadership on a national scale.

Outside his career, Thomas lived life to the fullest, embracing a diverse array of passions and interests. As a licensed private pilot, he found joy and solace in the skies. He dedicated his time and talents to numerous organizations and ministries, including serving on the AYSO Board, Discover the Book Ministries, Kingdom Aircorps, Gospel Mission, and various boards at Calvary Bible Church. Thomas also contributed his time to the Heritage Christian Academy and cherished his role as a counselor at Camp Barakel, a beloved Christian camp.

Thomas’s devotion to his family was steadfast and apparent in every aspect of his life. He took great pride in being involved in his children’s lives, whether driving his son John to hockey practices and filming his games or supporting his daughter Sarah in soccer, softball, and cross country. Tom was a runner and ran numerous marathons.

His warmth and playful spirit were especially evident in his relationships with his grandchildren, delighting in their company and helping with babysitting whenever he could. Visits to Florida, were precious moments he shared with his grandchildren, that lived down there. He and Patti also loved to travel, walking the historic paths of Biblical history and deepening their shared faith.

Those who knew Thomas fondly remember his remarkable sense of humor, his kindness, and his generosity. He was known as the life of the party, possessing a work ethic that inspired those around him and a heart that touched many lives.

As we honor and celebrate Thomas Roy Tibble’s life, we remember a man whose impact was felt in his profession, community, church, and most importantly, in the lives of the family he so dearly loved. His legacy will be carried on by all who had the privilege to know him.

Thomas is preceded in death by his parents: Almon and Nell Tibble; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Al Villarreal and Jette Dell

He is survived by his wife of 43 years: Patti; two children: John (Bethany) Tibble, of FL; Sarah (Austin) McCollum, of Kalamazoo; four grandchildren: Riley and Parker McCollum. He is also survived by his four siblings: Jane Villarreal, of Metro Detroit; Cathie (John) Kent, of TX; Harriet (Dave Gammon, of Metro Detroit; and Gary (Patricia) Tibble, of Kalamazoo; and brother-in-law: David Lee Dell, of Port Huron.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Tom on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at 3pm at the funeral home. The family will greet friends on Sunday from 1pm until 3pm. Burial will take place on Monday at 10am at the West Cooper Cemetery.
