Tyler Michael Cantlon

Tyler Michael Cantlon of Portage, MI passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at the age of ten. He was born on June 30, 2011 in Mareno Valley, CA the son of Serena Esman.

Tyler enjoyed going on trips to the beach, going on hikes, and riding the bus and going to school. He liked listening to music and the sound of his toy bells. He had a sweet tooth for anything chocolate, his favorites being pudding, cake, and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Tyler could always be found with one of his stuffed animals. More than anything he enjoyed playing with people and receiving attention.

He will be fondly remembered for his goofy faces and silly attitude, always having a smile on his face, and being the sweetest boy. When asked what the meaning of life was he responded with a “Woo!”

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of his teachers, aides, therapists, nurses, and bus driver.

Getting to know Tyler over the past four years has been an honor. I am so proud of him and his progress and growth, especially in using his gait trainer and the HOPSA Dress for mobility. I loved that he was motivated to be "Teacher Tyler" and would walk in his gait trainer to get to the front of the classroom. He had great Halloween costumes and wore jingle bells all year long, which brought him and others great joy. Tyler had a fun sense of humor and loved to laugh, especially when you made bus air brake sounds in his ear. If he was laughing, you were laughing. I miss him so much and will remember him always.
