Virginia Allen

Virginia (Townsend) Allen stepped out of the confines of her earthly body into her heavenly home on November 7, 2022. She was born to Howard and Elizabeth Boss on June 11, 1938. She lived much of her life in Plainwell and Allegan and graduated from Plainwell High School. 

Her legacy to each of us here, her love of life, her compassion, her generosity and mostly her love for Jesus shaped us all. She loved cooking, baking, singing and her trademark was serving, of which all who knew her were the beneficiaries. We will miss her, but her legacy continues from generation to generation because of her choice to obey. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings and her son Frank Townsend, III. 

She is survived by her children Michelle (Tony) Serna, Cheryl (Bill) Smith, Nanette Townsend, and John Townsend, her 11  grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. 

Psalm 79:13 Then we your people, the sheep of your pasture, will praise you forever; from generation to generation we will proclaim your praise.

In accordance with the family's wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 19 at 11:00 at Allegan Bible Church, 412 Sherman Street, Allegan, MI 49010.
