William Martin Bothwell

William Bothwell, of Kalamazoo formerly Vicksburg passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at the age of 74. William was born on October 6, 1945 in Three Rivers. He was the son of William and Beryl (Stephenson) Bothwell. Bill graduated with the Class of 1963 from Vicksburg High School. After high school he served his country in the United States Air Force. Bill enjoyed playing tennis, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He is described by his family as patient, gentle, kind, selfless, generous, loving and a bit sarcastic and spunky. He is survived by his three children: Jon Bothwell, of Kalamazoo; Jeff (Jennifer) Bothwell, of VA; Lisa (Carl) Purdiman, of Vicksburg; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by his three siblings: Brian (Kathy) Bothwell, of TX; Carolyn Mainone, of MI; and Cynthia (Michael) Aleman, of IN. He is preceded in death by his parents: William and Beryl Bothwell. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2020 at 1pm at the Avink Funeral Home & Cremation Society, 5975 Lovers Lane, Portage, MI 49002. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 12 noon.
