IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William George
Landreville Jr.
November 24, 1945 – February 17, 2026
William was born in Webster, MA; the only child of William & Diana (Marie Ricard) Landreville. His younger years were spent between living on his grandparent's chicken farm and weekday boarding school. After primary school the family traveled south chasing employment opportunities, but by the time he was a teenager, they had settled in the Stuart neighborhood of Kalamazoo. Bill graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School. He worked at Howard Johnsons while in High School. It was during this time that he met his future bride, Kathy Marie Blades. Directly after Bill's H.S. graduation, he joined the Navy and soon he and Kathy were married and began their own family, residing on the eastern edge of Kalamazoo. Being near family was important to them and they lived within a mile of Kathy's familial home and shared a house with Bill's parents.
After his discharge from Naval service Bill worked at Gibson Guitar, Aaron's Heavy Equipment, Georgia Pacific (GP), and Graphic Packaging. While working at Georgia Pacific Bill formed a core of friendships that continued for a lifetime and endured through the closure of GP. They took hunting and fishing trips up north, bowled in leagues, and gathered their families together for special occasions and events. Later, these friends could be found catching up weekly at the local bar.
Bill was a friend to all and through the years he and Kathy hosted many parties for family, friends, and neighbors. They really knew how to throw a great party. A few neighbors they met early in their marriage became close friends and travel companions throughout their lives.
Bill is survived by his wife Kathy, their children; Bill Landreville (Christine), Kathy Briggs (Preston), and Joseph Landreville. They have seven grandchildren; Nicole (Shaun), Jason (Courtney), Timothy, Mary, Brigitte (Wilson), Alley, Logan, and 5 great-grandchildren; Alexis, Archer, Serena, Elizabeth, and Cruz.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial gifts to be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758516, Topeka KS 66675-8516. woundedwarriorproject.org, 855-448-3997.
While at www.amsfuneralhomes.com please take time to sign Bill's guestbook and/or share a memory with his family.
The Landreville family is being cared for by the Avink, McCowen & Secord Funeral Homes and Cremation Society, 5975 Lovers Lane, Portage, MI 49002. 269-344-5600.
